Staff and Board

Our Team.

Meet our team. We proudly share each of us is an individual in continuous, sustained recovery from alcoholism and/or addiction. Each of us are happy to share what it was like before recovery, pathways we've explored and maintained, and what a fulfilling life in recovery today looks like.

Cynthia Boyd | Executive Director
Recovery Date: August 8, 2007 Personal Pathway: Multiple pathways, but both Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous, saved my life Personal Mantra: “It is what it is.”
Originally from Massachusetts, Cynthia moved to the NEK in 2004, with her substance use following her. She found herself involved with Department of Children and Families and Department of Corrections, even spending time in jail in 2007. Upon her release in March of 2008, she began volunteering at the Kingdom Recovery Center, eventually becoming a board member, then the volunteer/activities coordinator, and then in shared a position as a coordinator. The board hired her to be the Executive Director in March 2015. In the fall of 2015, Cynthia graduated from Phoenix University with her Associates in Arts, majoring in Psychology.
She has shared her personal story of addiction and recovery with the community at large and with anyone and everyone, that she feels can benefit from it, including taking part in “Ask Us Who Are,” a documentary by Kingdom County Productions about foster care and her personal journey of her recovery. Cindy feels that everyone deserves a chance to change, and a chance to find recovery. The Kingdom Recovery Center gave her that chance, and now she wants everyone that comes into the center to be offered that same chance that can potentially save their life.
